With only four weeks听of school听left,听June听promises to听be听a busy and exciting time听filled with听many important academic, extracurricular and milestone听activities, which will be remembered by students for years to come!听 听
On Monday,听June 1, 丝瓜视频 schools will celebrate Ontario Day听by recognizing听significant听achievements and听contributions of past and present generations,听and听highlighting听Ontario鈥檚听important role听in Canada!听The Ministry of Education is supporting听Ontario Day听learning听to听strengthen community and听a听sense of belonging, build civic awareness,听and听enhance听students鈥� understanding of the diverse people who have shaped the province.听
In June, we recognize听National Indigenous History Month听as an opportunity for听students and staff听to听engage in learning and reflection about Indigenous cultures,听perspectives听and histories.听Students and staff听continue to build on the important work that takes听place听all听year听long, supporting a deeper understanding of past,听current听and future experiences of听Indigenous peoples in Canada.听
We also celebrate听Pride Month in June, as听part听of听our commitment to creating inclusive, identity-affirming learning and working environments for听2SLGBTQQIA+ communities, and听as we work to support听acceptance听and inclusion听all year round.听
Next week听is听National听AccessAbility听Week听(May听31听鈥撎齁une听6),听a听time to听celebrate the听valuable听contributions of all persons with听diverse abilities听and reflect on how we can听eliminate听barriers to听accessibility听and听take steps towards a more听inclusive听society.听
The听first week of June also has a听special听focus听of听School Crossing Guard听Appreciation听Week!听We say thank you听to听the many听crossing guards听who听help students travel to and from school safely every day.听

Summer School
Summer School registration is open for a wide variety of courses. Guidance Departments at secondary schools are available to help students register. More information is available on the school board website.
Getting Ready for Kindergarten Webinar: Special Education & Inclusive Classrooms
New and current Kindergarten families joined us last week for a short webinar designed to support families and caregivers of children with special education needs as they prepare for Kindergarten at 丝瓜视频.

STSCO's Annual Opt-In for Transportation Requests听听
Student Transportation Services of Central Ontario (STSCO) is continuing the 鈥渙pt-in鈥� program for next school year. The opt-in program requires families to confirm their children鈥檚 intent to ride the school bus if they are eligible for transportation. Messaging about opting-in is shared directly by STSCO with all eligible families who have a Parent Portal account.
